blogging history

One of the most historic sites on Whiskey Row, the Hotel St. Michael is the cornerstone for the northern end of the block. Opened on June 1, 1901 the hotel is said to represent the “coming of age of Prescott’s hostelries. Built of brick and stone, it is decorated with stone faces or ‘gargoyles’ which allegedly represent crude images of local politicians.

Photos from my morning walk Sunday morning – early, to beat the desert heat in an already-warm May.
