Cannot Upload/Insert Images After Upgrading To Wordpress 2.8.4 – Blog Fix

Wordpress Image Error

Painful Problem:

You could not Upload/Insert images or any media into your post after upgrading to Wordpress 2.8.4

Cause:

This problem is caused by a conflict with one or more Wordpress plug-in.

Quick Fix:

Make sure you have updated all plug-ins into a Wordpress 2.8.4 compatible version.  Here is a list of possible plugins that may cause this problem.

This list is not complete. If you know other plugins that may cause this issue then I would really appreciate your comment below.

I could not insert images/media after I had to erase/reformat my hard drive following a failed multiple software update (iTunes, QuickTime, Security Update).

I tested the plug-ins one by one. The solution was to delete the “CATEGORY ICONS” plug-in.

For the better part of 4 hours scoured the net looking for a solution. Tried ‘em all. Stumbled on this. Deactivated Podpress. Boom, Flash uploader works like a charm. Thank you so much.

Thanks! The only one I had was the wp-amazon plugin. The linked file at the newer version also didn’t work for me, so I don’t have this function anymore — deleted the this plugin and now everything works again.

Sociable also has this annoying problem. Deactivated it and now it works.
